Is Battlefield 6 on Game Pass? The Real Answer

This question gets a confusing answer because two subscriptions share a name. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes EA Play, EA Play is the subscription Battlefield games usually appear on, so it looks like Battlefield 6 should be covered. It is not, and the reason is that EA runs two tiers with very different contents. Here is what each subscription actually gets you as of September 21, 2026.

The Short Answer

No. Battlefield 6 is not on Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass, and it has not been added at any point since its October 10, 2025 launch. The only subscription that includes the full game is EA Play Pro, EA's premium tier, which is not part of Game Pass at any level. Game Pass Ultimate members get the standard EA Play tier, which for Battlefield 6 means bonus items rather than the game.

What EA Play Pro Gets You

EA Play Pro has included Battlefield 6 since launch day, and not the base version: subscribers get the Phantom Edition, the $100 package with cosmetics, the Season 1 battle pass and XP tokens bundled in. Pro is priced at around $17 a month or $120 a year, so a single month costs roughly a quarter of buying the Phantom Edition outright.

The important detail is that EA Play Pro is PC only. It runs on the EA app and covers Windows, with no console equivalent. A PlayStation 5 or Xbox player cannot subscribe to Pro at all, which means there is no subscription route to Battlefield 6 on console. On console you buy it or you do not play it.

What Standard EA Play and Game Pass Ultimate Get You

Standard EA Play, the tier bundled into Game Pass Ultimate, does not include Battlefield 6. Members receive an EA Play Deployment Pack containing XP boosts and cosmetic items, which applies to a copy of the game you already own.

EA also confirmed there is no 10-hour trial for Battlefield 6 through EA Play or Game Pass Ultimate. That broke with EA's own pattern: EA Sports FC 26 and Madden NFL 26 both shipped with the usual 10-hour trial for subscribers, and Battlefield 6 did not. A lot of the confusion online traces back to early reporting that assumed the trial would be there, published before EA clarified that it would not.

The Free Trial That Already Happened

EA ran a genuine free trial from November 25 to December 2, 2025, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC through Steam, the EA app and the Epic Games Store. It included select maps and modes, vehicles, and the Eastwood map that had just launched.

That window closed in December 2025 and has not been repeated since. Trials like it tend to reappear around a major season launch or an awards cycle, so it is worth watching EA's announcements rather than assuming the game is permanently trial-free.

Battlefield REDSEC Is Free, and It Is Not a Trial

The route into Battlefield that costs nothing is Battlefield REDSEC, the free-to-play battle royale that launched on October 28, 2025 alongside Season 1. It is a separate download, permanently free, with up to 100-player matches, a knockout variant called Gauntlet, and access to the Portal community creation tools.

REDSEC is not a demo and it does not expire. It shares progression systems and the weapon roster with Battlefield 6 without requiring the paid game, which makes it the honest answer for anyone searching for Game Pass because they want to play Battlefield without paying. As a free-to-play title it also does not need a console online subscription, so there is no PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core requirement layered on top.

Why Battlefield 6 Skipped Game Pass

EA publishes Battlefield itself, and putting a flagship premium shooter on a rival subscription at launch trades a $70 sale for a subscription payment. Battlefield 6 sold 7 million copies in three days and finished 2025 as the best-selling game in the United States, so the commercial case for holding it back was strong and has stayed strong.

That does not mean never. EA has previously added older Battlefield titles to EA Play's standard tier after their sales cycle ended, and Battlefield 2042 followed that path. A realistic expectation is that Battlefield 6 joins the standard tier once its revenue curve flattens, which for a title still shipping seasons is not imminent.

How to Check for Yourself in Thirty Seconds

Subscription contents change without much fanfare, so the reliable method is to check the storefront rather than an article. Open the Battlefield 6 page on the Microsoft Store or in the Xbox app and look at the buy panel: if it is included in your subscription, a Play with Game Pass button appears in place of the price.
