Valorant's ranked ladder has not changed shape in years, but the numbers inside it move every Act, and Patch 13.06 on September 22, 2026 added the biggest set of competitive features the game has had in a long time. This page lists every rank in order, shows how many players sit in each one for Season V26 Act 5, and explains how RR, placements and the new Performance Score fit together.
All Valorant Ranks in Order
There are nine ranks. The first eight have three tiers each, and Radiant sits alone at the top, which gives 25 steps from the bottom of the ladder to the top.
Iron 1, 2, 3. Bronze 1, 2, 3. Silver 1, 2, 3. Gold 1, 2, 3. Platinum 1, 2, 3. Diamond 1, 2, 3. Ascendant 1, 2, 3. Immortal 1, 2, 3. Radiant.
Ranked unlocks once your account reaches level 20. From Iron 1 to Ascendant 3 you need 100 RR to move up a tier. Immortal and Radiant are leaderboard ranks: Radiant is the top 500 players in your region, so you only get in by pushing someone else out.

Valorant Rank Distribution in V26 Act 5
The figures below come from Riot's API data across the whole ranked player base for Season V26 Act 5, as of September 2026. Totals are per rank, with the tier split underneath.
Iron: 4.67% (Iron 1 0.57%, Iron 2 1.54%, Iron 3 2.56%)
Bronze: 15.72% (Bronze 1 5.17%, Bronze 2 5.75%, Bronze 3 4.80%)
Silver: 20.66% (Silver 1 7.62%, Silver 2 7.06%, Silver 3 5.98%)
Gold: 22.12% (Gold 1 8.70%, Gold 2 7.58%, Gold 3 5.84%)
Platinum: 17.56% (Platinum 1 7.62%, Platinum 2 5.83%, Platinum 3 4.11%)
Diamond: 11.55% (Diamond 1 5.11%, Diamond 2 3.80%, Diamond 3 2.64%)
Ascendant: 6.32% (Ascendant 1 3.24%, Ascendant 2 2.01%, Ascendant 3 1.07%)
Immortal: 1.37% (Immortal 1 0.98%, Immortal 2 0.22%, Immortal 3 0.17%)
Radiant: 0.05%
What the Numbers Mean for Your Rank
Gold is the centre of the ladder. Gold 1 is the single busiest tier at 8.70%, and a Gold 3 player is already above roughly 57% of everyone who plays ranked. Platinum 1 holds exactly the same share as Silver 1, 7.62%, which shows how wide the middle of the ladder is.
From Silver to Ascendant, the first tier of each rank holds more players than the tier just below it. That pattern is the demotion buffer at work: players stall just after a promotion, win a few, lose a few, and hover at the bottom of their new rank instead of sliding back.
Past Ascendant the ladder thins fast. Immortal 1 holds more than four times as many players as Immortal 2, and only about 1 in 600 ranked players sits in Immortal 3.
Placements, Act Resets and Party Rules
Placements seed you from your hidden MMR rather than resetting you to zero. You play five placement matches at the start of a season and at the midseason reset, and a single placement match at other Act changes. The highest rank you can place into is Ascendant 3, so Immortal and Radiant always have to be earned in live games. Radiant players are usually returned to Immortal with a large RR reduction when the Act rolls over, so the leaderboard rebuilds each time.
Party limits keep uneven groups out of solo ranked. Iron and Bronze players can queue with players up to Silver 3, Gold can go up to Platinum 3, and from Platinum upward the range narrows to one full rank. Five stacks ignore these limits but take an RR penalty of between 25% and 90% depending on the rank gap.

What Patch 13.06 Changed
Riot called 13.06 its biggest patch in years, and most of the headline features sit in competitive. Average Combat Score has been replaced by Performance Score, a 0 to 500 number that measures more than damage and kills, and it now decides MVP and scoreboard position in Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay and Premier.
Accolades track your personal bests for the current Act and across your whole career, and they can only be earned in Competitive and Premier. Rank Legacy works like a trophy case, counting how many times you have reached each rank. A rank can add to its counter once every three Acts, and demoting into a rank does not count. Both live in a new Competitive Hub on the Career page. You can also warm up in the Range while you queue.
The same patch reported that Riot's new boosting detection had been banning about 1,600 accounts a day, more than 90,000 since July 20, which matters for anyone who has felt that a smurf decided their last promotion game.

How We Researched This
Methodology
The rank order and promotion rules were checked against Riot's own competitive documentation and current ranked guides on September 28, 2026. The distribution figures come from Esports Tales, which builds its table from Riot's official API across the whole ranked player base, for Season V26 Act 5. Patch 13.06 changes, including Performance Score, Accolades and Rank Legacy, were read directly from Riot's patch notes dated September 22, 2026. Percentages are rounded and shift during an Act, so treat them as a snapshot rather than a fixed ladder.
